Designed to perform.

Focused on sharpness. Designed for finest clinical performance and ease of use.

Sharpness

Sharp, self-drilling and self-tapping. SpeedTip thread design.

HexaDrive

Self-holding HexaDrive screw head design.

Tapered Shaft

Unique thread design that achieves excellent purchase in the bone. Insertion torque remains controlled and low all through the screw insertion, also for longer screws

Examples of Application

Highlights

  • Immediate cutting of the bone with only slight axial pressure, with immediate bite.1

  • Engineered pitch dimensions for controlled insertion torque.

  • Insertion torque remains controlled and low all through the screw insertion, also for longer screws.

  • Unique thread design for excellent purchase of the screw in the bone.

The science behind.

  • Retrograde fixation of metacarpal fractures with intramedullary cannulated headless compression screws
    D. Jann, M. Calcagni, P. Giovanoli, T. Giesen
    2018
    Hand Surg Rehab

The authors of this paper presents the results of 20 unstable metacarpal fractures in 15 patients treated with percutaneous, retrograde intramedullary headless screw fixation (Medartis CCS Speedtip) and early mobilization. This resulted in good outcomes with all fractures healing within 6 weeks and most patients achieving full range of motion.

  • Intramedullary headless screw fixation for fractures of the proximal and middle phalanges in the digits of the hand: a review of 31 consecutive fractures.
    Giesen T, Gazzola R, Poggetti A, Giovanoli P, Calcagni M
    2016
    J Hand Surg Eur

Giesen et al., summarize the results of treating 31 displaced or unstable fractures of the proximal and middle phalanges (in 26 patients) with an intramedullary headless compression screw and early mobilization with no splinting. In this cohort, all fractures healed with no major complications. The authors concluded that this technique seesm to be technically simple, effective and with few drawbacks.
